POET CHALLENGES SCIENCE’S UNDERSTANDING

OF HUMAN CREATIVITY

Poets do not usually challenge the scientific community. But when the subject is “human creativity,” then perhaps it’s not so odd after all - even if it is a David challenging Goliath (science) situation.

Human Creativity is a red-hot subject these days. Recent high-tech research by McKinsey Digital Corp. proved conclusively that a 1% increase in creative skills can generate a 10% or more increase in production, and a corporation’s bottom line. Therefore, rare research on the subject of “the creative process” is seen as pure, profit yielding gold in the corporate world.

So it’s no surprise that when the life-long artist, poet, E. Laurence Bake presented the results of his research on the subject of “Creativity” it immediately sparked passionate debates. It was Art firing a daring shot across the bow of the corporate plus scientific - economic system.

The system I’m referring to is where science studies a big subject – presents findings – big corporations wine & dine the scientific researchers, hoping for an ounce of scientific, profit-yielding gold to capitalize on. It’s big money – big profit territory.

Traditionally, a poet has no seat at such a table, not where scientific information can potentially impact billions of dollars in products & services, and things like executive productivity, future innovation, sales and marketing success. This is sacred ground and no place for a poet, until now, it would seem.

But the subject is “Human Creativity and the Canadian poet did a public lecture that openly challenges what modern science has to offer the world on the subject and how we create the reality we want to occur on a project and in life.

His lecture defined 7 key elements. And it was the 1st element (principle) of his findings that is sparking the firestorm, and challenging modern science’s ideas on the subject down to the volcanic core.

Mr. Bake states that: “The primary source of creativity is the human spirit. And it is this word, spirit, that most scientists insist on avoiding like a virus.” The poet challenges.

“Avoiding this subject of the human spirit is holding science back from breakthrough discoveries that could revolutionize the Sciences, Arts, Culture, Business & Commerce, and health of the world.” He added.

Mr. Bake clearly states that his findings are not a religious statement of any kind.“They are demonstrable facts that Science must take into account regardless of one’s Faith or personal beliefs. It's not a religious debate. It's about advancing our understanding of Humanity." The poet concludes.

Mr. Bake’s findings are now available to the public as an audio presentation entitled, “The Universal Code Of Creation.” It can be found on the official non-profit website at: http://TheCodeOfCreation.org

The presentation includes supportive quotations from a cast of highly creative celebrities, like Oprah Winfrey, Tony Robins, Deepak Chopra, and others.

Where this debate will lead is still open. It will depend on who writes the better story and shows us with the best path to increased creative skills – an artist, poet, or a scientist in a white coat, mixing chemicals in a laboratory.
